It’s the last day of wedding week on Love Lanvin and I thought it would be the perfect time to compile Demi Moore’s ♥ Lanvin post. The beautiful actress fittingly wore a custom-designed gown on her wedding day to Ashton Kutcher in 2005 and has been loyal to the brand ever since. Moore, who employs stylist Rachel Zoe, is also a close friend of Alber Elbaz and last year during a press tour in Paris, she tweeted these fun pictures of her surrounded by beautiful Lanvin shoes and posing with Elbaz - in Lanvin shades, no doubt!
This year has already seen Moore rock some stunning Lanvin pieces from Spring 2010, plus a welcome revisit to a divine Fall 2009 dress. Out of all the ♥ Lanvin posts I have compiled so far, Moore’s has definitely been the most glamorous.
'Killers' Premiere in Los Angeles - Fall 2009
Most recently, Moore chose this insanely gorgeous Fall 2009 dress to wear to the premiere of her husband’s film, ‘Killers,’ in Los Angeles. The original runway version was shown in a slick noir shade, but this teal green hue works well against Moore’s skin tone and hair color.
The Met Ball 2010 - Draped Metallic Dress
Not everyone found Moore’s look appealing here but I like the silhouette of this metallic, one-shouldered gown. It’s such a beautiful shape and I appreciated that it wasn’t in basic black or other standard color. The Met Ball allows for celebrities to be more daring in their choice of dress and I thought this was the perfect balance of edgy and classic. The matching cuffs are exquisite.
18th Annual ‘A Night At Sardi’s’ Fundraiser - Spring 2010
Moore chose this ruffled LBD from Spring 2010 to wear to a fundraiser earlier this year. In my opinion, this is one of those ‘forever dresses,’ a piece that will never go out of style, no matter what the trends or fashions are. The ruffles at the waist may be a little harder to pull off if you’re not sample size, but it’s otherwise a perfectly classic dress.
2009 Freedom Awards - Spring 2010
You may recall that Jennifer Lopez also wore this dress to an event in a darker shade of tobacco brown. Moore opted for the runway version and I think that this color is much better suited to her skin tone. This is one of my favorite looks on Moore because it’s so chic but the ruffles, draping and one-shoulder make the outfit interesting and is a departure from the more structured dresses Moore sometimes favors. Lanvin chain link pumps and a long black clutch complete the rest of her outfit.

For Moore’s much talked about W magazine spread, stylist Alex White chose French brands like Balmain, Givenchy and of course, Lanvin, to show off their cover star’s envious figure. In this shot, Moore is posing in a beautiful beige Spring 2010 dress, similar to the one she wore to the Freedom Awards above, with a stunning Lanvin necklace.
'The House Bunny' Premiere in Los Angeles - Fall 2008
The premiere of her daughter’s movie ‘The House Bunny’ called for a beautiful but understated navy dress from Lanvin’s Fall 2008 collection. This dress was so amazing on the runway with black gloves, ankle boots and dark smoky eyes but it’s not always the best approach for a red carpet. Moore kept her look uncomplicated by accessorizing with a simple pair of earrings and a black clutch.
'What Happens in Vegas' Premiere in Japan - Fall 2008
Out to support one of her husband’s movies in Japan, Moore donned another fabulous dress from the Fall 2008 collection. Alber Elbaz described his approach to that season as starting with a thread and creating dresses, not from fabric, but strips of grosgrain ribbon. This dress is a beautiful example of that genius technique.
“Une Journee A Paris” Van Cleef & Arpels Fashion Event - Tiered White Dress
At a Van Cleef & Arpels event in 2007, Moore accompanied Alber Elbaz in this flirty beaded white dress. Accessorized with wooden jewelry and a mirrored clutch, this was definitely a young, cool look that Moore pulled off to perfection. (Side note: I am obsessed with Alber’s fuschia velvet bow tie in this picture!)
Couture Council Awards for Artistry of Fashion in New York - Black Pleated Dress
At an event honoring Alber Elbaz, Moore gave tribute to the designer by wearing a fun pleated black Lanvin dress with patent strappy shoes and gold statement necklaces. The dress has embellishments along the straps and neckline and I love these little details that make an item more interesting and distinct.
Moore’s Wedding to Ashton Kutcher in 2005 - Custom Made Lanvin Dress
Saving the best for last, Moore’s custom-made wedding dress was designed exclusively for her by Alber Elbaz. The dress is simple and understated; it appears to be a bias-cut gown with some kind of detailing on the back, not visible in this picture. The veil that Moore is wearing is beautiful and I love how it cascades all the way down to the floor. In an article for Harper’s BAZAAR US, Alber speaks a little about this experience:
"Demi Moore called me, because I made her wedding dress, and it was a big secret, her getting married to Ashton Kutcher… She said, "Alber, it’s out, it’s in a magazine.” I was dying to see the dress on her…"
I think the entire Fall 2010 collection would look great on Moore but I’m excited to see her in Lanvin pieces from any season. She brings such a great element of Hollywood glamour to the clothes and I’ll be keeping a close eye on her style in the future.
